Hi All,
Adobe has released information stating that they are on the verge of releasing flash player 10.1 for smart phones. This new version of the Flash playrs set to to be compatible with everyone smartphone including, Google’s Android, RIM’s Blackberry, Nokia, Palm Pre and smart phones. Not only is there great compatibilty for all these devices, the latest version is also set for the Tablet market.

With regard to flash on the iPhone and iPad, Adobe has stated that they have already shown flash to work on these devices with some apps on the store already using it (such as FickleBlox and Chrome Circuit). All they are waiting on is for some cooperation from Apple to actually implement it into the web browers. Here is a snipit from the Adobe website:

So, what about Flash running on Apple devices? We have shown that Flash technology is starting to work on these devices today by enabling standalone applications for the iPhone to be built on Flash. In fact, some of these apps are already available in the Apple App Store such as FickleBlox and Chroma Circuit. This same solution will work on the iPad as well. We are ready to enable Flash in the browser on these devices if and when Apple chooses to allow that for its users, but to date we have not had the required cooperation from Apple to make this happen.

Quoted from blogs.adobe.com

So now that everyone else is ready, when are Apple finally going to give in and start working with everyone else to provide a system that is used on oer 85% of the top websites. Come on Apple, get a move on will ya :D

Posted by Matthew Cawley under General, News, Nokia on Sunday Jan 24, 2010

Hi All,

Now here is something I never expected to see, Nokia has decided to make their satellite navigation service (OVI Maps) completely free.

The OVI maps system allows for full voice guided turn by turn guidance system for over 70 countries world wide. As well as the ‘drive to’ mode of navigation which is the usual style for navigation system, OVI maps also uses a ‘Walk to’ system that plans routes that you can walk down.  The walk mode takes advantages of guiding you down off road paths and through parks to make the route quicker.

Here is the OVI map information from the nokia website Read More
